6/17/16 Contest update Although the week’s top Contest portfolio stock, GBIM, managed a powerful immune response to the persistent biotoxo parasite, most Contest stock picks continued to host the pathogen, suffering the consequences. And, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was down -29.37% YTD (vs. down -26.47% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was down -24.20% YTD (vs. down -20.95% YTD a week ago), while the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was down -24.19% YTD (vs. down -20.83% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed down -4.14% YTD (vs. down -2.25% YTD a week ago). Despite a large week’s drop, DNAJOE’s portfolio, up 6.80% YTD, managed to slip back into first place, as MASTER’s portfolio, up 5.89% YTD and now in second place, had an even worse week. DANIEL’s portfolio, down -6.74% YTD, moved into third place. At Friday’s close, 56 of the 58 Contest portfolios remained in the red, with 18 beating the NBI and the same 18 beating the SPSIBI. The 224 Contest stock picks had an average YTD loss of -23.49% and a median YTD loss of -25.81%, with just 41 of the 224 Contest portfolio stocks up for the year. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week, ranked by % Gained and % Lost. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.) Portfolio adjustments: DMPID symbol changed back to DMPI. (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Have a relaxing weekend biotechies. Peace & good health, Bulba
