Paul, Here is what Micro$oft says: microsoft.com microsoft.com But in general, NT started out as a dog. You could barely boot it up with 16 MB of memory. It is getting leaner and performs better. It has to. In the server area, we still have competition, and a lot of the code is shared between the workstation and server versions. The GUI speed is being improved as well (at cost of some security) Joe
