I have had really good luck with Seagate using them for years no problems. I have 5 Seagates. The drives that I had die on me in the last 10 years were IBM, Toshiba, WD, Maxtor (Internal and external).

My current drive that I use for back up are Hitachi Touro and Seagate drives. My desktop has a Maxtor hard drive that is 10.5 years old and still running great. Toshiba are crappy drives in my opinion and so are the WD Passport line. The WD Red and Black drives have a good reputation.

I was thinking of making a video, buy 3 WD Passport drives and destroy them in different ways, I know of a place that has a metal shredder that they use to destroy hard drives turned in for recycling. That seems to get peoples attention. One YouTuber did that with 6 brand new iPhone 6's. He did all sorts of things to them, soaking one in liquid nitrogen then used a sledge hammer on it, shooting one with a 50 cal rifle, and other ways to destroy them. Mind you this guy make a pile of money on YouTube so he can afford to be a tech assassin.
