Not true, at least in Intel's case. They are using SVGL's Micrascan II-QML (Quater Micron Lamp) system. No excimer laser requred to do
0.25um on this machine. I just spent the holidays with a photo engineer working on the 0.25um Pentium II process so this comes straight from the horses mouth.

AMD may be another story.
