Howard Bobb, the founder of AMI, was a friend of mine and his company was founded to do full custom work only. I visited AMI first time in December 1969 and we represented them for a couple of years after that. That T.I. so called microprocessor was a joke. BTW, I forgot to mention the 6502 (MOS Tech, Rockwell), which according to Matt Biewer of ProLog in Monterey, was the best micro controller after the 4004.

That said, none of those were really aimed at computer emulation or replacement, but all designed for and used as micro-controllers in instrumentation.

To look like a true microprocessor one needed INTERRUPT! Without interrupt, one really cannot talk about a microprocessor aimed at true computing.

So here the question for your (lack of) expertise: Which one was first out with an interrupt function? BTW, take a course in Google search, it really took you some time to "update" your "knowledge" in this department.

Happy Googling :)
