I'm not advocating a police state. I am encouraging that the laws be changed to facilitate the execution of more violent criminals. Consider this: It's hard to find any cases of murder where the perpetrator doesn't have a prior history (and often a long prior history) of arrests and incarceration for violent crimes. In the end, many of them are released and commit even worse crimes. It must end.
Think about the young girl, Polly Klaas, who was brutally raped and murdered by a violent ex-con; Richard Allen Davis. It was tragic and completely preventable. The authorities had a violent monster locked up, and they ultimately let him go. Instead, they should have executed him.
Also, please realize that I do not advocate capital punishment using horrific methods that torture the perpetrators. The methodology should include putting the perpetrators to sleep using the standard drugs and gases that millions of people painlessly experience annually before invasive medical procedures are performed. Then, the perpetrators would be exposed to pure nitrogen, which is also completely painless. Many choose nitrogen gas as the preferred method of suicide in end-of-life terminal medical situations, because it is completely painless and easy to perform.
Using these methods, the perpetrators would be dead in just a few minutes, completely pain-free, and many could be executed at once when the situation calls for it.
Violent crime and violent criminals require very tough, coordinated, and decisive responses. |
