Case in point. Not all golden retrievers are nice and friendly. Nor are all pit bulls snarling and savage. If not abused, pit bulls on the whole are extremely friendly and very much people dogs. Not all, but in general. OTOH, if abused a golden retriever can be extremely dangerous.
Not really surprised you wouldn't know that. Here is a little hint. Humans, that doesn't necessarily include you, have been interfering with the evolution of dogs for 10s of thousands of years. The first traits that were bred out was any inherent aggression towards humans. Our ancestors weren't stupid, something that I just can't say about you, so that was an obvious thing to do. I direct you to the Russian work in domesticating foxes. Their only selection criteria was friendliness towards humans.
Sadly, the universe of things you know nothing about, yet think you do is very large.
Me, I have had a couple of Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd mixes. Extremely smart dogs, by all indications smarter than you. Very friendly and loves people in general. Loyal, too. Not the best of guard dogs, though. They will bark, but wag their tail hoping for a pat on the head which they enthusiastically accept.
So if there is anyone in this discussion who is dim-witted, it isn't me.
That leaves you, BTW. I am not sure you'd be able to work out the implications of that. |
