Paul... It's interesting that this bargain low end computer includes an ethernet connector. These are needed for connection to a cable modem. I don't think 16 MB is enough memory for consumers to be happy using Windows 95, but most buyers aren't aware of the importance of this, so they will probably sell a lot of these.
I have often thought that the expensive expandability feature on most computers isn't needed by the average consumer.
Intel must be getting fabulous yields in it's fabs.
DO you suspect that Intel is working on a low end microprocessor that will integrate videoand audio etc? If they could be produced in sufficient volume they would be cheaper, but then again Intel might drive the price of Pentium down so fast by manufacturing volume efficiencies, etc that they could undercut a more integrated microprocessor (even if it's theoretically cheaper).
