I don't think Warren has any interest in being a gadfly, any more than I would. She has a specific agenda in mind and she knows full well the more power she has the better she can effect that agenda.

Gadflies are often seen as fools. Bernie is the quintessential gadfly and look at how he's been treated? Warren was brilliant in withholding her endorsement, but also not climbing in bed with Bernie. That was exactly the right play.

And then she makes her endorsement of Hillary at exactly the right time, and then goes straight after the VP position. I have to think she figured all that out which makes her one of the smartest people on the planet. The way she did all that is mind-boggling to me. To get that kind of precision thinking and forethought is a very rare commodity. And I think Hillary sees it. Hillary is smart as hell and I think she is really impressed with Warren.



She went straight after that VP position. The way she did it surprised the hell out of me. It was not nuanced, it was pure guts and brilliance.



And I think Hillary will name her VP and then use her to make the transformational changes that she cannot make herself. Together, they will be a force to be reckoned with.



The other thought I had, was that this will also sort of put Bill in the background i.e. it's mostly going to be Hillary and Warren in the spotlight with the world titillated going forward, not just to make transformational changes in this country and force the rabid right wing back into the forest where they belong, but I can see those two organizing the women around the world.



I am becoming convinced that Hillary can see how much Warren can help her enhance her power to do good, and Warren is clear about how much she thinks being VP Can enhance her power to do good.



It is all about power. And those two understand that concept very well.
