Elmer,, you're absolutely right again, this is no big deal and I'm glad that Intel takes this viewpoint also.

How many companies make socket 8 / slot 1 chipsets?

Wonder how long it takes to recover the R&D cost of a board or chipset and enter a solid profitability phase?

Has the product cycle been shortening rather sharply during our progression from the 8086 to the PII?

How many products has Intel introduced as "Server Only" that didn't go straight to the desktop?

You know, these sound like the sort of things that increase cost and limit economies? Now that much said.... what's the big deal over 10 or 15 dollars for L2 Cache?
