The other day they did a detailed explanation on the weather channel of why the jet stream has both slowed down and become so erratic. I had no understanding of that until the lesson that they provided and it was pretty cool.

In a nutshell, as I understood it, the air in the Arctic is now so warm that the warm air that used to go up there and then cool and fall, now doesn't fall so much and that slows the jet stream down because the incline is not as steep.

That was a great post of yours explaining how the winds in both the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere are starting to co-mingle and the jet stream is wandering all over the planet.

It is amazing how dangerous the AGW situation is we are facing and people seem oblivious.
