| | | <If it pops again tomorrow, I might have to trim my holdings a bit....always a tough decision for me to sell a portion of winners.>
I was thinking the same thing... my GIS total return (including divvies, compounded) is just over a double for me in 5 years... 26% annualized total return in that period... some of these lower yielders, but with decent CAGRs turn into super stars in terms of total compounded returns... VZ, JNJ, O, NNN, AVA, SRE, KMB also in that league (doubles with 20% or more annualized total return)... and RTN (a 3-bagger since I bought in 10/2010, with 41% annualized total return, but the yield compression is getting to be too much, and I may sell it, or at least half of it) -- I almost forgot MMP (a 2.5-bagger total return, w/ over 30% annualized in past 5 years)...
I won't list the 2-3 stinkers I had during that same period, but their names begin with PSEC (not including divvies, which have been substantial and just about make total return break even, but still...), SDRL (I really blew that one) and my 1/4 position in MHR-D that went to zero (thank goodness it was a small position... still... hope is not a valid investment plan component.... %&#! Evans!) <ggg> |
