Bruce, that is only part of the answer. Timberland should not by any means be lumped in with the prospects of Nike or Reebok. In fact Timberland is now taking away market share from these companies. We have seen a major trend shift from white shoes to brown shoes. Timberland is having a terrific 4th Qtr. The childrens line is doing phenominal, and apparel is really selling. This is a rare opportunity to buy a company that is running on all cylinders on the cheap. TBL is growing EPS by 25-30% next year and is selling for close to only 10X 98 eps. Yes only 10X. Stock should recover to the 70's soon and hit new highs as we approach the announcement of 4th Q. eps. Expect $4.25 in '97. $5.25 to $5.50 in '98. Buy now, it was one big seller for the past two weeks slaughtering the stock for no reason, stupid move.
