If that was the only thing restricted you might have a point. Might have a point. But it wasn't. So your point isn't one. Why on God's green Earth do you want a bayonet lug? On second thought, don't tell me. I really don't want to hear about whatever fantasies you have tied up with bayonets. As to your other one... All mass shootings happen with a semiautomatic weapon. Lately, the weapon of choice is a "black rifle" as you call them. Not all of them, but the majority of them. That isn't an accident, it is what they are designed for. Using the right tool for the job, as it were. Look at Australia. Granted, their rate of mass shootings has always been lower than in the US. But in the decades since they greatly restricted the availability of semiautomatic weapons, they have had zero mass shootings. Decades. Zero mass shootings.
