Praveen Brian this is good news PentiumII 233 @$209 by may means AMD will get no less than $150.00 for their lowest chip made. and much higher prices for the .25u chips. The APS will go up and volume production will give AMd the earnigns monemtum to return to profitability. However stratigicly should AMD dicide to dwell in the sellar a little longer concivalby they could sufficently underprice Intel and gain as much market share as they can produce, while pricing just enought to break over even. Demonstrating they can gain market share could be more valuable than earnings and will strike a devistating blow to Intels earningss. The demonstration would be valuable to winning back all the customers AMD would need to insure future sales.... I think AMD should take the gamble for makret share and use the opertunity to slowly price to profitablility to regain some of the lost integrity from the ramping issue. They could show the gain in market share while they bought time to bring Dresden online. Then convert to 300mm technology and copperconectivity to double capacity without cost of another fab while decreasing voltage and increasing chip speed. The more I think about it the more I like AMd position working at the bottom of the trench.
