In the morning, Comey will further explain his decision. The Republicans are, I would imagine, are going to hear to well-reasoned explanation preset testimony like a machine. Comey is a genius, his testimony will be unassailable, and it will be over when the hearing ends.
But NOTHING changes what he said the other day. It was scathing against Hillary, and he might as well have said, "YOU ARE DAMNED FOOLS IF YOU VOTE FOR THIS WOMAN." It was that much of a condemnation.
Still, he was in a no-win situation. He would have been heavily criticized by the Left as being a Republican lackey had he gone the other direction. So, he decided to present as clear a statement as he could and hope like hell the voters had the good sense to avoid her in November.
They won't. American voters are, after all, "idiots" according to Obama's advisers. |
