I said nothing about being personally there or links being out of bounds. All I said is someone else's opinion isn't proof.

In theory the US could have set up and directed a coup, or much more likely (but still very unlikely) gave money to some coup plotters, who then pulled off the coup and likely would have (or at least would have tried) without the American money (and possibly intel). But the problem for your argument is that there wasn't a coup. There were protests, escalating in to riots and insurrection, then a collapse of support in the capital for Yanukovych.
