But the vast majority of those people don't want jobs: Of course. That is because the safety net has become a comfy hammock. Those people shouldn't be sucking off the public teat, but learn to be self-sufficient and productive. I have this problem with my own parents. They are lazing around on government support and not working nearly as much as they could. My Dad could definitely put in a lot more hours than he does. And my mom, well she hasn't drawn a paycheck in decades. Not to mention their dependence on socialized medicine. I keep telling them they should be pulling their own weight, but they just don't list. Or make feeble excuses about being in their 80s...
