Much of what you say is true......in my experience the Floridian Cubans, as a group, have a high work ethic and are very proud of their individual accomplishments and resent being lumped in with eg, Puerto Ricans but we must remember that most Cubans are still in Cuba and have lived with a communist government all their lives... The older generation living in Fla, I think, consider themselves American-Cubans rather than Cuban- Americans.... The younger generation(s) have assimilated and don't share those old conservative values.....
