My lived in Tampa when I was in college the first time. Over summer and Christmas break, I used to work for Tampa Coca Cola. Some of the mechanics were Cuban. One of their favorite phrases was "cut off his head and make him a Mexican".

Now these guys were not descended from Castillian Spanish with blonde hair and blue eyes. They were mostly Indian, looking more like Pedro who just waded across the Rio Grande looking for work.

Still, they did a great job keeping trucks that were older than I was running. But there was no love lost between them and other Hispanics.
