Frederic, tax loss selling was done on the 29'th, with the exception of cash-settled trades, which are rare. (Due to 3-day settlement.) This is the reason why the "Santa Claus Rally" typically starts before the end of the year. (Used to start before Christmas when we had 5-day settlement.) Yours is a reasonable theory, though. One can certainly give it a couple of days slop. It will be interesting to watch the price over the next few days.
