I just got the smaller 45 biotechs in XBI loaded into Excel for 1/1/00 through yesterday. Interestingly, the data set becomes 9 back in 2000. I also may have incorrectly corrected data from INSY away. Data was spotty and it looks like it might have been a reverse merger entity back in old days so I deleted until data smoothed. Same for RTRX.

Anyway, very interesting initial observations:

  1. Most bios in index now not alive publicly in 2000
  2. Extreme buying days concentrated this year, at the peak in 2015, and drum roll please, not again until one gets back to the small sample sizes in 2001 and again in 2000. Nothing in between 2001 and 2015.
  3. Less than 0.5 occurs in ALL years except 2005 and 2013 and is concentrated in 2000/01/02 and 2015/16. 2008/09 has more than the rest but not by much. Samples then were in the 25-26 range.
  4. My TA metrics did not quite nearly as extended on this data set as the other but did issue a sell signal, actually probably 2 days ago.
  5. By my metrics, 6/2/16 was the culmination of the most intense buying in this group ever.

I am having CPU issues and will revert with the full set of XBI later.
