Steve,
With TARP as my latest, easiest to understand example, the money never goes to where they say it does. They roll out the dying and crying, take more money from me, and put it in their pockets. Simple read the TARP bill passed by Congress, the media coverage of what it was going to be used for, THEN tell me where every dollar went.
Time to play a game, called "What would a liberal say?"

TARP went to preventing a crisis from turning into a catastrophe. The Great Recession was bad, as most people have experienced personally, so drastic action was necessary to bail out the institutions in our society that are simply too big to fail.

And it worked. The Great Recession ended, and Obama presided over a long period of economic expansion that has now resulted in under 5% unemployment. Surely you can give him credit for saving this nation and leaving it better than it was when he took office, no?

P.S. - I'll leave it to you to poke holes in that argument. #manthislibshitiseasy
