Former Ku Klux Klan head David Duke considers running for Congress
nydailynews.com
The former grand wizard wants to go to Washington.

The white supremacist and Donald Trump supporter told The Daily Beast he is contemplating challenging Rep. Steve Scalise for Louisiana’s first district, which includes parts of New Orleans.

“An exploratory committee of citizens in my District has formed to consider a run for U.S.Congress!” Duke tweeted Monday night.

The 66-year-old Holocaust denier pulled no punches when discussing his decision to run with the Daily Beast, making clear that the possibility of a run was about race.

“Unless European Americans stand up, they are going to lose everything they care about in this country,” Duke told the website.

He said that the massacre in Dallas at a Black Lives Matter rally that left five police officers dead had been the tipping point that made him want to run.

Duke, who was once nearly elected governor of Louisiana, will decide whether to throw his hood in the ring before the July 22 ballot deadline.
