I'm dipping in again, but with caution. From my reading of the tape we've got more sells than buys, though the bid/ask spread is favorable and we've held strong at 1 1/32 bid. Tons of small sells. Either some MF guy is tasked with getting the best price he can and is dropping a few thou every ten minutes or we've got the last of the small capitulaters. The last three trades have been 200 and 300 share sells. Anyone else want to offer their reading of it all? I won't feel any relief until 4:00 PM EST. Edit update-- A 400 share sell went off right after I originally posted this. More of the same. I then left the room for two minutes and come back to find 25,000 more shares have gone through, probably a big sell. Is somebody monitoring this board? <<vbg>> We're back down to 1 at the bid. Further edit-- I put in an order splitting the spread (1 1/32). MMs immediately raised the bid to my order. I didn't bite. Four minutes later they gave it to me and we're back to 1 by 1 1/16. Those guys are getting predictable.
