Craig-Good article on Internetworking. Here is my twist on the previous article. Mr. Finnerty included Intel,Microsoft, and Applied Materials (ALL LARGE TECHS) in his statements that he felt "small" tech stocks would lead rebound in 1998. Since there are over 11,000 stocks out there and all kinds of tech. stocks and he can't mention them all, I put the word Tellabs in his article whenever he said tech. stocks. The investing public and that includes brokers, tends to put all tech. stocks into one family (IMHO a poor way of doing things) He felt tech. stocks were good last June-August and earnings were there. Then in Oct. the Asian flu hit, with tech stocks going to sleep. On average they were down 20-50% ( Tellabs was off 23%). On average ,they have limited exposure to Asia and they have good proprietary, leading edge, technologically advanced products. People and cos. around the world will continue investing, at a ever increasing pace,in the best of information age technology (that includes telecommunications). Good USA tech. companies, and that certainly includes TELLABS, will bounce back and lead the charge in 1998. Best Wishes. DAVE DICKERSON |
