Cymer South East Asia (SEA) - Sept 1997 issue.
Located in Hsinchu 60 km south of Taipei. Provides field service engineering, tech support and spare parts to both direct customers and semiconductor manufacturers. In 1998 laser training courses will also be included locally in Hsinchu. Customers served are in Singapore, Malyasia and Thailand. 8 employees there << We will hire many more people in the coming months to meet the phenomenal growth of the Taiwanese and Southeast Asian markets >>
Cymer Korea - Nov. 1997 issue
Located in Pundang. 13 people there as of end of Oct. Supports local Korean offices of ASMLF, Nikon, Canon, and chipmakers Samsung, Hyundai, and LG semiconductor. John Shin, the president of Cymer Korea, has 13 yrs experience. He has worked for Samsung, AMAT, Whatkins-Johnson and KLA Tencor
Cymer New England, pronounced "Cymah" there. (Editors note) June 97
Based in middleboro Mass. Supports customers in Vermont, NY, Mass, Conn, R.I. NJ, Maryland, Virginia, FLA. 8 employees. Of note: The SVLG plant in Wilton Conn is on a 24hr 7 day a week contract. No other plants are mentioned by name.
By the end of 1997 Cymer will have 24 operating locations globally for customer support, in 96 it had 5. - Nov 97 issue
In the inaugural issue, April 97, Akins makes reference to the the golden opportunity and the staggering challenge ahead for the company. He mentions: << working to the beat of " Cymer (dog) time" ( we accomplish in one year what most companies do in seven!)>>
I found the "Cymer time" reference a neat insight.
