Also beyond the specifics of this one case, people having guns in an area isn't a guaranteed way to stop a violent attack, it just creates the possibility that they will be able to stop the attack. Its not like any one case amounts to evidence that guns are useless for defense against mass shootings, esp. not when its posted in reply to a case of defense by a person with a privately owned firearm, and in light of the fact that when a mass shooting is stopped by a citizen with his own firearm the death toll is typically lower then when its stopped by cops. (And that's not even considering the cases where a potential mass shooting is stopped before it has enough victems to qualify as a mass shooting).

If guns were really so useless (for anyone but murderers as JF Sheppard seems to think) then why arm cops? Its not like cops are supermen. There people like anyone else. If they can stop a situation with guns so can non-cops.
