Tom.

You seem to be a big supporter of TEAL. Seeing your posts from time to time on various SI threads always catches my attention. I thus would like to ask you a few questions relative to TEAL if you have the time to respond.

I have been with the same broker for over 25 years and he has given me some good tips over the years. Some bummers as well but on balance it has been very positive.

Recently, he called and recommended some TEAL stock for my IRA account that just received an infusion of cash from a profitable sale which, BTW, he had previously recommended. I usually just go along with his recommendations in Banking and Health but I wanted to understand TEAL as it was a technology stock.

I came away unimpressed however I respect you on the SI threads and would like your reaction to my findings.

My questions/comments:

1. Revenue down big time 97 vs 96
2. Gross margin down 53% to 51 % 96 vs 97
3. Projected q3 loss.
4. Big but few customers which in my mind is a big risk.
5. SGA costs are up. Don't know why.
6. Not clear what the $3.9m charge was for. Bad Debt? Are Bad Debts the result of poor product performance? I noticed some founders leaving so some portion (maybe the majority) of the $3.9m charge might have been from golden parachutes. Do you know?
7. Law suits. Yes I know sooner or later everyone gets sued but it does take the eye off the ball when you are trying to turn the company around.

On the positive side:

1. With all their cash they can't go much lower.
2. R/D increased and that seems to me to be a good sign. Any input on that.
3. New management or should I say one founder now in command.

I hate to speculate (so far never) with my IRA or 401k funds as these are retirement funds and I am retired. I depend on them. On the other hand, only a small turnaround could drive the price from 2 to 4 and doubling your investment is always good. <G>

Thanks in advance,

Bob T.
