Magic Leap setting up a 'secret' lab at Lucasfilm campus in San Francisco

Augmented reality company Magic Leap is creating a "secret" lab on Lucasfilm'scampus in San Francisco's Presidio neighborhood, its CEO told a Fortune conference recently, as investor interest in the sector grows.

CEO Rony Abovitz said the venture-backed company hopes its San Francisco location will be a ground zero for developers to innovate and create, UploadVR reports.

“We’ll have a part that cannot be accessed by regular people, it’ll just be for Magic Leap/Lucasfilm development," Abovitz told the crowd. "And then there’s a … developer lab that we’re building out that all kinds of devs from the Bay Area can come in, and hopefully hang out and build stuff before launch.”
