Thought I'd mention a few things I've done...

Although I have the perfect south facing roof for solar, my electrical use is so small ($50-60 mnth) it doesn't make financial sense for me to buy a system. It used to be 2/3rds of that but we are now saddled with paying for a defunct Nuclear Power Plant that was shoved down our throats by incompetent bureaucrats... and Kamala Harris our senatorial candidate did a secret deal with the utility company and the California PUC to put the burden on rate payers.

So, I'm nearly all LED now. My microwave bulb is incandescent. That's about it.

I bought some solar powered outdoor lights. They work great in areas that would be cumbersome to wire and pay for themselves pretty much. Super easy to set up. I've had my first one up for 3 years now no problems.

LED powered. Small light package pretty much guarantees you'll be able to start your car in the boonies.
