So? The election won't be held today, but is still months away. It would be weird if he didn't get a bump during the convention. That will fade with time. The fact that the Democrats have their convention next week means they will get a bump for that and Trump will lose ground because of it.

Historically speaking, polls before mid-August just don't mean much. You might be able to pick out some trends, but those trends do not look good for Trump. So far, he under-performs Romney in every demographic. There still are a lot of fence sitters, so it isn't totally hopeless, but he hasn't done anything to cause them to move in his direction. Unless he can break ahead, the fence sitters will tend to drift towards the front runner. Which has been Hillary for months.

While it isn't impossible for Trump to win, the fact that Trump has pissed off every demographic except for angry while males means he will likely lose. Voter suppression efforts have historically resulted in a backlash and a higher turnout in the suppressed demographics. Dunno if that will be true this time, but if it is, Hillary wins in a landslide. Because guess which demographics have been targeted for suppression?
