I was just in Rio showing my son-in-law around. I was also in Belo Horizonte. I like to go to Brazil 3 to 4 times a year for business having to do with real estate but tend to take the opportunity to bring others along as I love to show off the country. I only have about a seven day window free during the Olympics and have invited others but as usual likely no one will go. Like the COPA I feel no strong need to go to the Olympics but would be happy to do so if a friend really wanted to go. You see I find find Brazil an exciting fascinating place to go anytime and I don't really need the extra craziness of the big events. Though if you want to go let me know. By the way, I do think the purchase of a house or apartment in a section of Rio such as URCA would be a great long-term investment and probably better then any purchase in the USA at current prices. I am still waiting for the Chinese devaluation and hope to see the real, dollar rates go back to four. If it does great but if the real gets stronger that's also great for my current rental income
