Herb, you seem to believe for some reason that technology should serve you... shame on you. Humorously the pressure to conform is intense. Tonight as I swerved around iZombies on my bike ride I thought "I must be missing something, EVERYONE is staring at their phone"... almost literally... very few people were NOT staring into phones... but I quickly came to my senses. Its a pretty nice night out... 70 degrees... right next to the bay... and people are transfixed by their phones not experiencing the night at all... lovers walk hand in hand staring at separate phones... I on the other hand... old fart... am quite happy listening to poetry... nothing that the Comic Con people will ever experience... stuff Maya Angelo would probably keel over and die from if she heard it... great stuff... angry stuff sometimes... sweet stuff sometimes... stuff so crazy you have to laugh... I have to say the iZombies angered me... though it shouldn't I thought... its none of my business except I have to make sure I don't run into someone not paying attention to where they are going... nearly completely oblivious... they hear my blaster and look up shocked, one after another after another... I wondered if I was peeved because this is it... all the technology, all the knowledge comes to this... Pokeman... the object of our desire on a 4x6" screen... the pinnacle of our civilization... and then there are the parents pushing babies in strollers... eyes glued to their phones... what will the consequences be to those little kids... implanted for sure I think... peer pressure will demand it... careers will demand implants.
