Unless you want to claim that Obama ordered the beheading, so what? This is part and parcel of dealing with groups like that. I remember during the unpleasantness in El Salvador, some government guardsmen, we supported the government, raped and killed some nuns. Not sure if it was precisely in that order, though. Unlike Obama, we actually supported those guardsmen, saying those nuns essentially deserved it because they were where they shouldn't have been.
And unlike the El Salvadoran government, the rebel group of which those people are members of, disavowed the beheading, calling it a "mistake". Not that response was all that great, but it at least is different than what usually happens.
Yes, some of those rebel groups are not all that great. Some, like ISIS, are arguably worse than Assad and the Russians. But, there are still people in this country, people with influence, who think we aren't doing enough. Exactly what constitutes "enough" is not real clear. Maybe troops on the ground going toe to toe with the Russians? |
