It makes more sense where I live, although its pretty temperate here it occasionally does get pretty hot. LEDs are so much cooler. Several of my LEDs pull less than 2 watts.

The biggest one I have which I hardly ever turn on pulls 17 watts.

Last year was the first time I've used my air conditioning. Usually I blow in cool air at night then shut things up until its cooler outside again. I come home on a hot afternoon to a cool home. Use trees and insulation.
