It wouldn't be the Democratic Party without dissension. But I am cautiously optimistic the major dissension is over. Of course who knows what wikileaks will spring next; they are playing up the "pay to play" document that some DNC person was stupid enough to write months ago. That kind of thing has been done since the days of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and the oh so morally upright John Adams and everyone else since then, but of course the Rs are all "I'm shocked, shocked... etc". (Yeah, I know, just because everyone does it doesn't mean it is right it will be the downfall of the Republic omigosh we are reallydoomednow!)

I thought Silverman was good until her adlib at the end, "You are being ridiculous!" Not that she was wrong, but IMO she shouldn't left it at that. She should have added something like, Look, get your priorities straight, first defeat Trump, then we can get to the business of getting as much of the Bernie platform done as we can. But she didn't add that, and it felt like it came off a little harsh.

At any rate, I liked Bernie speech a lot. Except I still disagree with some of his pet projects. Like free tuition for all. That is crazy talk. How will it get paid for? The federal govt runs military academies but no other colleges or universities that I know of. He is just begging for the states to offload even more of their education obligations on the feds and what will be the mechanism for state schools to rein in their costs? Plus not everyone should go to college. In countries where there is free tuition, there are rigorous examinations that people have to pass to be admitted to college. Are we going to do that? It is just a manna from heaven proposal that doesn't seem to be thought through.

There is other crazy talk too but I am going to bed now.
