Democrat Convention Presents La Raza Moments of Illegal Alien Sob Stories
Illegal immigrants - having lived outside the US for the past 16 years it's hard for me to understand the huge objection to them in the current election cycle. But come on, it's not that hard to solve the "problem".
My "comprehensive immigration reform" plan would give work permits to the illegal immigrants that qualify (whoever they may be, I don't even know what group of illegals is targetted by these democratic immigration reform proposals), would give none of them citizenship, and would deny them all government welfare + entitlements.
So the illegal can work in the US doing the crummy jobs few Americans want to do, deny them the right to vote, deny them any entitlements, and then the problem cures itself. Birthright citizenship makes their kids US citizens like you and me, and eventually the serf-like illegal immigrant dies.
If some poor sod is so destitute that they want to come to the US and work without any federal benefits and without any role in representative government, fine, come do it. Their life is going to suck compared the to lives of US citizens, but perhaps it is still better than the crummy place where they currently reside. They would pay taxes, live with their citizen family/kids if any, and have a life of lousy hard labor helping the US economy. Thanks. If they are able to raise themselves up from picking grapes up to managing a chain of restaurants, all the better, they gotta pay all the taxes along the way and we don't have to pay them any social security when they retire. You don't end up with a "permanent underclass" because the problem - that mom and dad are illegal - cures itself withing a generation. Mom and dad eventually die off, and their kids are US citizens.
And politically, it's beautiful. The Dems get to allow their poor innocent illegal immigrant families to stay together, and the Republicans get to keep these newbies off the dole and in productive undesirable but necessary jobs AND unable to vote themselves government benefits. |
