I don't know if Trump's done anything illegal with the Russians ... phrasing questions about illegality is a Clinton thing ... if she's never been convicted, she's okay. Now Republicans are using that game for Trump.
I do know his financing is disproportionately Russian now because his son, Donald Jr, said so. I've posted things that named various shady Russian oligarchs that have helped finance this or that project. He's surrounded himself with advisors (Manafort, Flynn, Page) with deep business interests with said oligarchs. Accordingly it is fair to say he's in bed with them and they are all in bed with Vladimir Putin. He's combined those connections with trash-talking NATO. So much so that his spokesman, Gingrich, actually said the US shouldn't defend Estonia, a NATO member that DOES meet its NATO obligations. It's obvious his business interests have already affected his planned foreign policy.
Cruz's wife is a VP at Goldman Sachs ... Big freaking deal! Not! First off, I don't subscribe to the horror fantasies about Goldman or any other institution BUT people who talk about Heidi Cruz's working for GS and don't care that Donald Trump chose a former GS partner for his fundraiser and future Treasury Secretary are being extremely hypocritical.
BTW what the heck is wrong with Goldman Sachs anyway?
He may remain in the senate but his presidential aspirations are over. Who cares? Standing up for your family is more important than your career. Would YOU work for a boss who insulted your wife and father?
His senate career may be over Trump WANTS his Senate career to be over, Flake and Sasse too, and probably more. Trump doesn't really even WANT a GOP held Senate. If he did, he'd want ALL these guys in the Senate. Trump puts his personal feuds ahead of the party, the nation, and ahead of the fictional desire to appoint conservative justices. |
