Is Facebook The Next Apple? Here Are The Signs

Apple ( AAPL) is rallying in the stock market today on the heels of an estimate-beating quarter, but the tech titan's growth has stalled. That has left many investors to wonder which company has taken on Apple's mantle as the big-cap growth leader — and that very well may be Facebook( FB).

The social media leader also has a huge size, but it has seen booming, accelerating growth. When Facebook reports quarterly results after the close today, earnings are expected to jump 64% as revenue climbs 50%. Those impressive gains would actually be a slowdown from the prior quarter.

Facebook been on a streak of double-digit growth for more than four years, and analysts expect that level of growth to continue for the foreseeable future.
