It's certainly a Democrat organization ... Look at Trump's guy Mnuchin, his intended Treasury Secretary.

As to the meltdown I blame the federal government pushing banks to make bad mortgage loans. Goldman bought and resold mortgage backed securities like every other financial institution did. But they didn't make the bad mortgage loans in the first place. I consider the focus on the financial institutions (ie Wall St) designed to take the public's eyes away from the root problem.

Now since you consider think Heidi Cruz working in a part of the organization that provides wealth mgmt. services for retirees damning, even though that part of their business had nothing to do with securitized mortgages ..... why doesn't Trump picking a Goldman Sachs second-generation partner who at one time RAN THE DEPT that sold securitized mortgages bother you at all? Shouldn't be that be many times more damning than selling retirees on GS managing their retirement funds?

What did Trump's future Treasury do at Goldman Sachs?

During his time at Goldman Sachs, where his father was once a partner, Mnuchin oversaw the trading and sales of municipal and mortgage-backed bonds and of government and money-market securities. After heading the firm's mortgage department, he became Goldman's chief information officer.

It looks obvious to me Trumpers don't really give a damn about Goldman Sachs or they'd be balking at Trump's hiring a guy who actually had something to do with that financial crisis.
