Bernie didn't win. Despite the things that were against him, and not being a Democrat was a biggie, he did a lot better than I thought he would. While I would have been thrilled if he had won the primaries, I am still not convinced he could have won in the general. I don't think his brand of populism is there yet. The populist who could win would also include much of Trumps base. And they aren't ready for a non-Republican. Yet. But if history is any guide, they will be. Right now, the Know Nothings(AKA American Party) are having their turn in the spot light. And likely will implode in a similar manner as last time. Their brand of hate just doesn't attract enough Americans.
