I read what was going on and spent 30 years in politics and it rings true.. I am a hard-core yellow dog Democrat. I'm just reporting what I read and what rings true to me. But I also know that is how the game is played. Nevertheless, if it was you and you felt you were fighting for a good cause i.e. the plutocratic oligarchs running this country, and you ran up against the Democratic machine like that you would feel the same way.
You absolutely would.

This is similiar to what happened in the 60s when we hippies were trying to stop the Vietnam war. The Democratic establishment fought us every step of the way. We backed Eugene McCarthy and he forced LBJ out in I believe the Wisconsin or Minnesota primary and Then the Democratic establishment inserted Hubert Humphrey who refused to denounce the Vietnam war and was adamant about continuing the path that LBJ and the generals wanted to take with regard to continuing the war in Vietnam.

Hubert Humphrey would not denounce the war. So in that situation we were fighting the Democratic establishment and I was on the other side as a new age liberal Democrat. Bobby Kennedy joined us after LBJ quit. Just like Warren supports Bernie's position. None of us flirted with the pubs ever.

The people on the left supporting Bernie felt that confronting the plutocratic oligarchs running this country is a top priority. And they are right. And because Bernie ran, that will put more power in the hands of people to do what needs to be done i.e. use our democracy to force Wall Street, the corporations and banks to obey the law and function in a way that is helpful to society. How can that be bad? These are good people.

Elizabeth Warren who knows more about financial law than practically anyone in the world and taught at Harvard tells the same story that Bernie does and is fighting exactly the same fight. And so are a lot of other good smart people in this country Like Robert Reich and Bill Moyers.. And once Hillary is seated, you will see these people come back together and be a force for achieving that end
