Report: Koch brother rejects meeting with Trump By Harper Neidig Billionaire Republican benefactor Charles Koch shot down efforts by donors supporting Donald Trump to set up a meeting between the two on Friday, according to Politico. Koch, along with his brother David Koch, oversees a sprawling donor network that includes several Trump supporters who have been lobbying the brothers to back the Republican nominee.According to two unidentified Republican sources, Politico reported that Koch aides rejected efforts from Trump donors to try to set up a meeting on Friday while both men were in Colorado Springs, Colo. Doug Deason, a member of the Koch network and a Texas state finance chairman for the Trump campaign, told Reuters on Thursday that he had emailed Koch about the prospect of meeting with Trump. "We think it’s really important that Donald convince Charles he’s the right guy, and for Charles to influence Donald’s policies," Deason said. "He [Charles Koch] indicates he’s taking a wait and see approach. He’s not completely writing if off." Unsatisfied with the two major party’s nominees, the Kochs have indicated that they will not be spending any money on the presidential race. “If I had to vote for cancer or heart attack, why would I vote for either?” Charles Koch told Fortune earlier this month. thehill.com
