That's funny, deal with the Devil. You could be right. The Yankees have really stocked up on some great prospects. Everyone here is holding their breath to see if Chris Sale or Jose Quintana are dealt by the Sox who appear to be sellers but one can never be sure - they never seem to get off the fence one way or the other.

You made great guesses. It was Boog Powell. I didn't remember he had a boffo year like that. And yes, Johnny Bench beat out Billy Williams for MVP. I know I'm biased but I think Billy's numbers were better. One thing that jumped out at me was I presumed Billy played in a lot more games than Bench (being the Ironman not to mention Bench was a catcher) but some how Bench appeared in darn near every game. He had 605 AB's and 54 walks, so he must have been playing some third and/or first.

Last night I saw one of the most exciting Cub games of all time. It included a great catch by a pitcher playing left field, a six run deficit, a three run comeback in the ninth by the Cubs, and it ended with the most unlikeliest of players being called on to pinch hit in extra innings (John Lester) who executed a nice squeeze bunt with two strikes.
