The legal help for acquiring an E-2 investors visa currently runs about 20-30k$ a pop. That gives you an E-2 visa valid for 10 years - or in some cases for 5 years only. Next the extension lawyers fee runs about 50% of that. The DNC publicity definitely cannot hurt his business in any way :) An E-2 pretty much gives you all the benefits of a green card and there is an easy path to the green card from the E-2.
