Dear All -

It has been a really really intense year. Datek Online has grown from a never-heard-of company to one of the best and largest online brokerage firms in the industry.

It has been a lot of work by a lot of people, and, to be fair, the comments on this thread have been very useful in helping us improve and develop our services. Thanks!

We have lots of new exciting products and services coming within the next quarter, including a new web site. Stay tuned!

But the best part is *still* the fact that Datek Online is the only place to go to get connected directly to the market, real electronic trading. From the website directly to the market.

Your order does not come off a printer in the computer room to get typed in by hand into the *automatic* system, and then sent to some other firm for execution.

After a detailed analysis of our competitors web sites and trading systems, I am still amazed by how everybody wants to use the internet to merely modify the existing market-broker-client paradigm by making it easier for a broker to interact with more customers, rather than to throw the old paradigm out the window and let customers use technology to interact with the market place and with their account on their own. Directly. Let the customer use the internet to do things that he/she could not do before.

Its like an ATM machine that lets you print your own money.

These are exciting times.

Next year is going to be even better one. And lets try to have some fun!

Some specific answers:
1) Options - Datek Online plans to offer options by the end of the third quarter of 98

2) Level II quotes are on the short list.

3) Complain about gritch.isld.com and the developer will be forced to commit hari kari. It will be ugly. Our knives are dull.

Have a great holiday, and a great new year!
