RE: Effect of Refurbished Drives on Financials.

Has anyone thought about what the refurbs will do to Iomega's financials? According to Iomega, the refurbs had been stockpiled for 2 years and have only recently been repackaged and sold.

I can think of two scenarios here:

1) Refurbs were kept on the books at cost. If this was the case, we should see a drastic reduction in inventory as these are cleared out.

2) Refurbs were kept on the books at little or no cost. In this case, we're selling products with little or no COGS, which will really help the margins.

I'm leaning more towards #2, as finished goods inventory levels haven't been too high. Also, Iomega is really good about taking writeoffs as early as possible, which again points towards #2.

Just a thought to consider!
