Cloud Computing Market Report: Amazon is No 1 and Cost Leader, Says Gartner In the fast-expanding cloud computing market Amazon Web Services has got a near monopoly and its only challenger is Microsoft, according to Gartner’s Magical Quadrant report. The report is regarded as an annual benchmark and a checkpoint to see the status of various vendors. According to Network World, as in 2015, this year too, Amazon Web Services is on top, Microsoft at second slot and a boatload of other vendors are “everyone else.” The report surveyed vendors of the Cloud computing market and the services given out to big companies on rent. It affirmed that the market has only two dominant players with Amazon Web Services reigning as the leader and Microsoft’s Azure cloud running behind it. Other players in the fray include Google, IBM, VirtuStream, CenturyLink, Rackspace, VMware, OVH, Hostrunway and DigitalOcean.
