I know he wants the attention of being a Presidential candidate but I don't believe he really wants the job. I think he'd be happy to walk away, say it was rigged (he's predicting this publicly already) and play celebrity reality show victim for years.

He keeps saying stuff and tweeting stuff that get him negative attention. We have to realize even negative attention is attention. He likes it all. Take the slam early on about Fiorina's looks. She was a minor candidate with no chance and he had no reason to go after her except to get attention for saying something outrageous. Nothing has changed. Look at the recent attacks on fellow Republicans ... some of them Senators he'd presumably need and want to have a Republican Senate if he was actually going to be President. That makes no sense for a guy who is serious about being President.

This week, Gingrich, who is a Trump guy, a surrogate for him ... came out and said “Trump is helping her to win by proving he is more unacceptable than she is.”*

When he loses, the Trump personality cult he's built will go on. He'll still have lots of followers and still get press attention. He can do interviews, spend 12 hours a day tweeting, have a good time. I think that will be fine with him.

*Former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), one of Trump’s most loyal defenders, warned that his friend was in danger of throwing away the election and helping to make Clinton president.

“The current race is which of these two is the more unacceptable, because right now, neither of them is acceptable,” he said. “Trump is helping her to win by proving he is more unacceptable than she is.”

Gingrich said Trump has only a matter of weeks to reverse course. “Anybody who is horrified by Hillary should hope that Trump will take a deep breath and learn some new skills,” he said. “He cannot win the presidency operating the way he is now. She can’t be bad enough to elect him if he’s determined to make this many mistakes.”

Now imo this is kind of suspicious given that he endorsed her 8 years ago and praised her to high heaven only four years ago AFTER she'd been Sec. of State, AFTER we knew she'd lied about Benghazi, etc. I'll be paying attention to see if Hillary's administration rewards the Trump Organization in some way.
